Romance, honor, jealousy, and chivalry, not to mention an exceptional set, marvelous costumes, and thrilling battles yield a recipe for success in Drury Lane’s new production of CAMELOT, now playing through January 4, 2015.
Although we loved everyone in the cast, we couldn’t get over Drury Lane’s ultimate French knight hunk, Travis Taylor (aka “Lancelot”), who stole the hearts of every woman in the audience. #ManCrushMonday status will be coming soon… Ken Clark’s honorable “King Arthur” was so endearing, we felt we had become fast friends by the end of the show. Christy Altomare, who stars as “Guenevere” was also delightful to watch, especially during her opening number, “The Simple Joys of Maidenhood.” From the intense choreographed battle scenes to the dreamlike “Lusty Month of May” scene, the ensemble was incredible. Director Alan Souza, who made his Drury Lane debut, captivated audiences with his fresh new take on the beloved musical.
The performance schedule for CAMELOT is as follows: Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m., Thursdays at 1:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 5 p.m., and 8:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. Lunch and dinner theatre packages are available, including Drury Lane’s famous Thanksgiving Day Buffet, Christmas Brunch Buffet and New Year’s Eve Dinner.
