Audiences were R-O-L-L-I-N-G with laughter at last night’s press opening of THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE at Drury Lane Theatre.
THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE is the uproarious story of six overachieving and quirky adolescents pitted against each other in the spelling challenge of a lifetime. A satire with heart, SPELLING BEE demonstrates that winning isn’t everything and losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser.
Fun facts about SPELLING BEE: The show ran for 1,136 performances, won the Tony Award for Best Book and gave Jesse Tyler Ferguson (of “Modern Family” fame) his big break.
