Sarah Ficek, Senior Account Director

Sarah has been with Heron Agency for two years specializing in public relations, marketing and social media. During her time at the agency, she has worked on a variety of hospitality and event organizations including the National Hellenic Museum, Hyatt Hotels, Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, the National Marine Manufacturers Association, the One of a Kind Show, American Bar Association, the Ivy Hotel, Sportsmen’s Lodge Los Angeles, Orangetheory Fitness, Massage Envy, First Folio Theatre, and many more. Having secured successful placements for clients in local TV, online and print media, some of her top local hits include the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Crain’s Chicago Business, ABC, FOX, CBS, WCIU, WGN and NBC. She has also secured national placements in a variety of acclaimed print and online outlets including USA Today, YAHOO!, Mashable, Good Housekeeping, Time Out, Thrillist, The Daily Meal, Eating Well, Zagat, Woman’s Day, The Today Show, and The New York Times.

Sarah has worked on many large-scale campaigns including the opening of the American Writers Museum, the first museum of its kind in the country, the multi-million-dollar opening of Shore Club, a seasonal restaurant, bar, and breezy hangout on North Avenue Beach, the introduction of Studs Terkel Radio Archive, one of the world’s great spoken-word collections, the 25th Anniversary of French bistro Le Bouchon, and the grand opening of the Westin Jackson in Mississippi’s state capitol.

Before joining the Heron Agency team, Sarah worked at a boutique PR agency in Chicago focusing on several technology, hospitality, consumer packaged goods, and retail brands. Sarah attended Columbia College of Chicago where she studied Marketing Communications. Residing in Chicago’s North Center neighborhood with her boyfriend and cat, Sarah enjoys traveling with friends and family, spending time outdoors, checking out the city’s cool new restaurants and exploring different areas of Chicago.
