Senior Account Director

Heron Agency is currently seeking an experienced Senior Account Director to join our dynamic team.  The ideal candidate will manage day to day responsibilities across client accounts including interactions and management of their needs.  This strategic employee will work alongside the CEO on all things account management wise and will proactively forward think on account initiatives and deliverables.  The ideal candidate will engage with the media, influencers and the business community working on pitching, to secure opportunities for clients to drive success.  Additionally, this person will manage and grow our junior staff and interns.  This role requires a love of new business ideation and creative thinking around engaging potential new business in a competitive space, as well as monitoring press coverage, creating summary reports and researching and maintaining our editorial calendars and media lists.  You will be responsible for developing press materials, media alerts, strategy documents and new deck formation across clients. 

This driven Senior Account Director will have a true passion for hospitality and be flexible and able to work non-traditional hours to accommodate our client’s needs in the entertainment and hospitality space.  

To thrive in this role, you should have at least 3-5 years of experience managing multiple accounts in a fast-paced PR agency environment.  You need to have strong relationships with key media players, excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a true self-starter, multitasker and delegator, but also love to collaborate in a team setting and teach others.  Experience pitching clients is critical media.  You will need a portfolio of placements you bring to the table, writing samples and knowledge of Meltwater and Canva.  Additionally, you must drive and have a valid driver’s license to attend press and client events.  

This person should be an out of the box, creative and innovative thinker who works quickly and collaboratively in a team setting. 

A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in Journalism, Communications, or PR is required.

Publicist

Heron Agency is currently seeking a motivated Publicist to join our dynamic team.  The ideal candidate will take a proactive role across client work as a Publicist for our lifestyle clients. The Publicist will be responsible for pitching, writing press releases, building lists, attending press events and broadcast/radio segments, attending meetings, assisting in creating and launching public relations campaigns, and other duties as needed.   

This driven Publicist will have a true passion for hospitality and be flexible and able to work non-traditional hours to accommodate our client’s needs in the entertainment and hospitality space.  (Flex or comp time is offered). 

Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required to be successful in this role.  Additionally, our fast-paced team requires a true multi-tasker who can work on many clients and projects simultaneously with impeccable written and oral communication skills. 

General computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and Canva is required, and knowledge of Cision/Meltwater helpful.  This person should be an out of the box, creative and innovative thinker who works quickly and collaboratively in a team setting.  

A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in Journalism, Communications, or PR is required.

A minimum of 1-2 years of PR experience required.

This person must hold a valid driver’s license, as often, they will be required to attend events.
