As we’re all doing our part to stay home and keep one another safe, we are now finding ourselves with two holidays in the midst of it all: Easter and Passover. These can (and should) still be celebrated with special moments such as sharing a delicious chef-crafted meal, sending a card to a loved one you might be missing a bit extra over the holidays or taking the time to experience something new. We’ve put together a list of unique offerings and opportunities for everyone to take advantage of as they’re celebrating this week.

Show Love with a Special Card, Craft or Treat

Celebrating a holiday in this unique situation can be challenging. Now more than ever a greeting card can mean so much to someone. Paper Source offers a wide selection of cards for both Easter and Passover, available for purchase on their website. For those with little ones, they also offer countless options when it comes to holiday-specific crafts, egg-dying kits, and even special goodies for Easter baskets!

Show Support for Those Supporting Us and Help Connect Families

In an effort to support the healthcare and support staff who care tirelessly for their elderly residents, Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care is seeking donations of non-perishable pre-packaged food, personal care items and cleaning supplies. This initiative aims to provide each staff member with a bag of groceries weekly during this difficult situation. If you are interested in donating to show your support, please bring items to Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care in North Riverside and drop the items in the designated donation area outside the white door by the loading dock, so that the staff may sanitize and distribute accordingly. The center is also requesting donations of used iPads to provide families and friends the opportunity to video chat. To be used exclusively for digitally connecting residents to their loved ones during these difficult times of required separation, donated iPads and tablets may be dropped off at Caledonia Senior Living & Memory Care’s offices, where they will be sanitized thoroughly before use. For more information, email info@caledoniaseniorliving.org or visit www.caledoniaseniorliving.org.
